Go Pro!

If you love diving and would like to help others experience the under sea world, why not become a diving professional?

Divemaster £400

As a Divemaster you will have reached the first Professional level on the PADI ladder.  They are vital to the smooth running of all courses, and provide the opportunity to work with a variety of instructors and students to expand your own personal knowledge of diving.

Experience is gained through a combination of practical experience and knowledge development both in the classroom and self-study.  Ideally, Divemaster candidates will have their own kit, as they need to be familiar with it's operation.

The Divemaster Crewpack (not included) contains a wide variety of publications that provide the basis of diving knowledge required for your Divemaster course, and on up to Instructor!

The Divemaster course is one of the most strenuous courses you will take but is very rewarding, the main objective is to share your enthusiasm for diving with students and make them feel comfortable about the sport you love!

As you will be working with real students, you will also require an HSE Diving Medical.

Instructor Development Course (price on application)

To become an Instructor you will need to take the Instructor Development Course (IDC), which prepares you for the Instructor Exam.  The IDC consists of two parts - Assistant Instructor (AI) and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) - during which you will learn how to and practice giving classroom, confined water and open water presentations.  There are also sessions about the PADI programmes, teaching kids and various aspects of the business of diving.

These are often run sequentially, however, Doc and Maz can both teach the Assistant Instructor course, so we can be flexible on the timing of the AI portion, generally running it over a couple of weeks.  This means that you can fit it in over a number of weekends, or with other work commitments, etc.  It also means that you can have plenty of time for revision and practice at Knowledge Development presentations, in-water skills so that you are fully prepared for the Open Water Scuba Instructor Course, which runs over five consecutive days.

Having successfully met all the performance requirements on the IDC, your Course Director will recommend you go forward to the IE - the final hurdle - these are run at various locations throughout the year and are organised by PADI.

The Emergency First Response Instructor Course is mandatory for all new Instructors, and must be completed prior to being certified as an Open Water Scuba Instructor.  This is scheduled to fit in with the AI and OWSI courses.

After the Instructor Exam, we can arrange a Master Scuba Diver Trainer Prep (MSDT Prep) course!  This allows you to teach up to five Specialties, so you can gain you 25 certifications even quicker and become a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer.
