Wednesday Pool Evenings:
Wednesday Skills Clinics
During our regular Wednesday evening pool sessions, we hold
occasional Skills Clinics to keep your skills fresh and give
you the opportunity to sample something different! The cost for these Clinics
is £15
per person on top of the standard Wednesday fee.
Recent clinics have included Fish ID,
Navigation, Buoyancy, Underwater Christmas, etc. We
often offer special offers on Specialty courses related to the
Clinics!!!
Coming soon:
Coming for 2010 - A 'Try Techie' evening, so even if you never plan to dive with twins, or
invest in a rebreather, why not come along and have go!
Then you can talk knowledgably about scrubbers, long hoses,
closed circuits and shut-down drills!!
Club Night Schedule
We hold our Club Nights
on the last Thursday of every month, either at the Dive
Centre, in Exmouth Rugby Club or a local hostelry.

Making Blue Movies
Ian Thomas has been involved in making blue movies for
many years, and shared some of his experiences with
us! He was a safety diver for the program Pacific Abyss,
among others! He is generally to be found diving on a
rebreather, looking after various presenters and
camera-people, at depths that most of us wouldn't dream about
going to! Although some would consider him to be a
techie diver, his presentation was most definitely not techie!
Ian is also often behind the camera for the 'Making of......'
films.
The Seahorse Trust
evening was fascinating insight into
the lives of these elusive creatures! I think we were
all amazed at the size of them! The model was about 7
inches from snout to tail, and Neil had pictures of one that
had been caught in a trawl net, that was 12 inches long!
They can be found at many of our regular dive sites, so I
suspect that many of us have swum over the top of them,
without knowing! We will arrange a trip to Studland Bay
next year, to meet up with Neil and, hopefully, find some
seahorses! Be prepared for a two hour dive in about two
metres of water, covering an area about the size of our
classroom!!
