Think Pink!

After several years of all dive equipment being black, blue or yellow - a few manufacturers are going PINK!
Aqualung have released the
Pearl i3, available in pink, silver and aqua - and will be making a donation to support breast cancer research based on the success of this BCD! Why not match this stunning with the Mikron Ladies regulator, also from Aqualung.
And to finish off the pink ensemble, a pink mask and snorkel from Typhoon!

Outdoors Show 2008

March 14th - 16th saw Maz, Phil and Darren heading up the motorway to the NEC and the Outdoors Show.  We had a stand in the PADI Dive Village - with one side looking right out on the Try Dive Pool, and the other looking towards one of the big aisles!!  We collected details from lots of people interested in diving in Devon, so hopefully we'll get some visitors coming down this year!

Asda Development

Many people have asked us what we know about the possible new ASDA store in Exmouth.  The short answer is 'not a lot'!  As far as we know (from the newspapers) they have been told that money spent on the planning application 'will not be wasted' and the development company has 15 months to come up with a suitable set of plans!  If we hear anything else, we'll keep you posted; in the meantime, if you have a strong opinion on the possibility of having a huge new supermarket right in the centre of Exmouth alongside the estuary, please let the council know, I'm sure they'd be interested!!!

New Exmouth Life Boat Station - Under Construction!!

The new Lifeboat Station is currently under construction, so thanks to everyone who helped raise money towards it!

Cylinder Guidelines

We would just like to inform you of the new Cylinder Testing and filling guidelines that have now come in due to new the Health and Safety guidelines.

  • All  Cylinders tested after the 1st July 2006 must have stamp from an accredited test centre - the most common of which is IDEST. This is a small sticker on the neck of you cylinder above where the servicing date is - this stamp proves that that your cylinder was tested by an accredited centre. This does not apply to new cylinders that haven't had a test yet.

We cannot fill cylinders without an appropriate stamp

If your cylinder was tested in the last few days/weeks/months and does not have the correct marks / sticker we still CANNOT fill it. It will need to go off to our servicing company to be tested again!
All cylinders that have been tested by us will have this stamp - anybody who has had their cylinder serviced any where else will need to check that you have a valid stamp and that the cylinder was tested by a valid centre. We have a list of IDEST centres in the shop.

  • Valve Servicing has now been brought in as a standard part of any Cylinder test, so servicing prices have changed:

Visual Service to include Valve test: £30.00
Hydro Service to include Valve test: £40.00

The above includes parts for a valve service - if you need the valve replacing there will be an extra charge of £15.00 if they can fit a Reconditioned valve and prices for new valves will be available shortly.

If anyone has any further questions please contact us at the shop.
