Seal Team
Sine the pool we used to use had a fire at the end of 2006,
we have been looking for a suitable pool to restart the Seal Team.
The only time we can have more than one lane in the pool next
door is on Wednesday evenings, which is too late for
Seals! We have been looking for a pool that is warm and
covered! Watch this space!
Birthday Parties We
can arrange Birthday parties for children or adults. We can take up to six
students and introduce them to the underwater world! You'll
have the chance to play with the underwater frisbee and Mr
Sharky! Please
contact us for more details.
All participants will receive a certificate to
commemorate their
achievement.
If you prefer, we also offer snorkelling parties!
A birthday group having fun
under the water!!
PADI Seal Team
is a Scuba Diving
Course especially designed for children ages 8-12 years
old. All the sessions take place within the safe
confines of a local pool, where the Seals learn many of
the skills as someone taking the full Open Water
Course. Having completed the first five
Aquamissions, they become certified PADI Seal Members,
with their very own Diving Certification Card. The
Seals then progress onto the Specialty Aquamissions,
which range from Search & Recovery, through Night
and even a Wreck dive!! They will practice
controlling their buoyancy, learn to tie knots
underwater, use a compass and recognise many aquatic
creatures that can be found off the Southwest
coast. Weather permitting, we will take the Seals
Skin Diving in the sea, once they have completed their
Skin Diving Aquamission (hopefully by boat!)
Its not all work, we also play underwater frisbee
and, invented by our Seals, Underwater Stick in the
Mud!!!
If you have children who would be interested in
becoming PADI Seals, please contact the Dive Centre.
Seal Team members have their very own website.
Check it out by clicking on the logo!!

Junior Open Water Divers
Proving that the Seal Team provides a really good
grounding for youngsters wishing to progress further:
James became an Open Water Diver over the summer,
finishing his sea dives in the Red Sea, then joining us
off Babbacombe for a dive on his return.
Anastasia started her Open Water course on her 10th
birthday - unfortunately she had ear problems, so we
signed off as a Scuba Diver ready for her holiday in the
Seychelles. She will complete her Open Water
course next summer now.
Master Seal
Many congratulations to Anastasia who completed her
fifteenth Aquamission at the end of the summer term and
became JCD's
first ever Master Seal! As her last Aquamission was Skin
Diver, she has also qualified as a PADI Skin Diver.
Well done too, to James and Jamie who also qualified
as PADI Skin Divers.
Seals in the Red Sea
Jamie Spencer, another of our Seals, was lucky enough to jet off to the Red Sea in
October. Below is a picture of him on a dive

Class of Autumn 2005
Another class of Seals graduated just before
Christmas, so we held a celebration party at the Dive
Centre with mince pies and chocolate logs.
Congratulations to all of them! Three spent
Christmas in the sun with their families, so hopefully
were able to use their skills, and another Seal went on
a last minute holidays to the Red Sea with his
family. Become a Seal and see the world!!

Class of Summer 2005
Our first Seals were certified in June 2005, and we
celebrated with a barbecue at the Dive Centre on a
wonderful sunny Sunday evening. They are now
diving hard to become Master Seals. Some of their
photos are shown below....
