Xerotherm Arctic

EXTREME PERFORMANCE

The Xerotherm Arctic is one of the highest performance undersuits in scuba diving. Constructed using a unique combination of low volume, high insulation materials, the Xerotherm Arctic’s two layer structure creates a microclimate next to the skin, maximizing the retention of body warmth during a dive.
Using high density fleece, the Xerotherm Arctic holds air next to the skin and wicks away moisture from suit leaks or perspiration to maintain a dry zone next to the skin. The outer layer is high stretch, abrasion resistant material, which will not interfere with the operation of auto dump valves, and will not cause air to be trapped.

The Arctic will also continue to perform when wet. In situations even when a drysuit has flooded, the Xerotherm Arctic continues to provide thermal protection.

The suit is designed to maximise fit and performance, giving snug protection to the body, including the feet.

The Xerotherm Arctic is fully machine washable

Suitable for wearing underneath neoprene or membrane drysuits, the Xerotherm Arctic, can be used in conjunction with the Xerotherm base layer to provide extra protection for the most extreme diving conditions.

The Xerotherm

The Xerotherm is the ultimate base layer system for dry suit diving. Designed for versatility it can be used either on its own underneath neoprene drysuits or under a Xerotherm Arctic or other undersuit, with membrane and trilaminate suits.
constructed from a specialised PolartecÆ fabric originally developed for NASA, the unique knit and construction makes Xerotherm the most effective next to the skin garment for ensuring warmth and comfort in demanding environmental conditions.
the Xerotherm is made from the fastest wicking fabric in existence. Moisture is moved away from the skin by the fibres of the material and is prevented from contacting the skin. Air, which is a far superior insulator, is held at the skin's surface. This dramatically reduces conductive heat loss from the body.
Unique fabric structure and content provides an abrasion resistant outer, which vastly prolongs the life of the garments.
The Xerotherm gives unrivalled freedom of movement through all-directional stretch, making the wearer more comfortable and able to carry out their diving procedures without restriction.
worn under membrane suits, as a base layer beneath existing thermal protection, such as a Xerotherm Arctic, the Xerotherm significantly improves a diver's warmth and comfort.
Under neoprene drysuits the low volume, high thermal performance of the Xerotherm provides outstanding protection without loss of freedom of movement.

Drybase System

ULTRA FAST WICKING BASE LAYER

Many divers wear cotton t-shirts or similar items underneath their undersuits and this may actually leave them feeling colder and less comfortable than diving without. Cotton holds perspiration and moisture next to the skin where it can feel clammy, cold and uncomfortable.

Drybase is the new high wicking underwear system for drysuit diving from Fourth Element. Using ultra fast wicking fabric, the Drybase garments are the ideal alternative to cotton underneath a thinsulate or other undersuit. The garments' exceptional wicking performance means that the skin is kept dry and the wearer is much more comfortable during and after the dive, and is able to get the most out for the performance of their undersuit.

 The Thermocline System

Imagine diving with the need for little or no lead – there is less strain on the lower back, kitting up takes less time and is easier, fluctuations in the buoyancy of the suit with depth are not a factor. The increased comfort and freedom of a neutrally buoyant suit is clear.

The Thermocline neutrally buoyant wetsuit system represents an evolution in thermal protection, using state of the art materials to maximise performance without compromising on comfort. It is ideal for warm water temperatures of 25 degrees C.

Combining the Thermocline Explorer with either a short or Long sleeved top provides double layer protection for the body core.

Thermocline Core Systems

Protecting the body core is essential to performance whilst diving.

The range of Thermocline vests and shorts for both men and women provide enhanced protection to the body core when worn under a wetsuit, thus making a huge difference to the comfort and warmth of the wearer.

The neutral buoyancy of the garments means no extra lead is required to compensate for additional thermal protection, but the wearer is able to enjoy longer and more comfortable dives.

The skin finish in the Thermocline range has a smooth rubber like appearance. Thermocline skin dries extremely quickly, reducing wind chill and is particularly effective when worn as an underlayer. The shell finish has a nylon layer on the outside giving a more traditional neoprene look.
